Andy Moog

Andy Moog

Birthdate: Febuary 18, 1960
Birthplace: Penticton, BC, Canada

Height: 5'8"
Weight: 175 lbs

A butterfly style goalie, Moog has often been underrated. Living in the shadow of Grant Fuhr, Moog's talents were rarely seen. He has relied on his reflexes for the most part, but in the latter stages of his career, has greatly developed his technique. His only weakness is that he comes out too far, and opponents deke him out easily.

Drafted by the Oilers in 1980, Moog was part of the first three Stanley Cup winning teams. His performance was virtually unseen because the Oilers depended heavily on Fuhr. He left the Oilers to play for Boston. Later, he was traded to Dallas to face off against the Oilers in the first round of the 1997 playoffs, in which Todd Marchant scored the game winning goal in the OT period of game seven. Moog now plays for the Montreal Canadians.
