A defensive forward, Craig MacTavish has had his named engraved in the Holy Grail of Hockey three times via the Edmonton Oilers. He has also won a fourth with the Rangers in 1994, along with ex-Oilers Mark Messier, Jeff Beukeboom, Kevin Lowe, Esa Tikkanen, Glen Anderson, and Adam Graves.
However, MacTavish is an ex-criminal. Due to an alcohol-related accident, he was responsible for the death of an Edmonton woman. He was imprisoned for one year. After his sentence, Glen Sather picked him up to play on the Oilers.
MacTavish is now retired, having played his final year in St. Louis (1996-97 season) and scoring only seven points in fifty games.
